Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) with a small molecule that allows it to penetrate the skin. Its main function is to exfoliate the skin, eliminating the bridges between dead cells. Glycolic acid is particularly suitable for acne-prone skin, as it unclogs pores, helping to prevent the formation of acne and blackheads. The elimination of dead cells also helps to smooth rough skin, pigmentation, and even out the overall skin tone. Not recommended for very young skin (unless prescribed by a doctor).
